Chair - Mr Solomon Brown
Mr Solomon Brown was born in 1922 in Jamaica . His father was a successful builder and owned a large business but Solomon was restless and he first travelled to Kingston and then later in 1951 he came to England to improve his education and gained a certificate in Industrial Management and a city and guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr Brown married in 1952 and has 4 children, 3 boys and a girl who have provided him with 8 Grandchildren.
Mr Brown has been with LPHA since 2001 as a committee member. He has been a Lewisham Councillor, and during his time as Deputy Mayor, he took up the cause of the elderly and in particular those in care. When he came to St Mauritius House, he was delighted to find what he considers to be ?the best care home for Black Elders? he had ever come across.
